The USDA this morning confirmed private exporters have sold 756,000 tonnes of corn and 340,000 tonnes of Hard Red Winter Wheat to China as well as 110,000 tonnes of soybeans to unknown. The corn and soybean sales are for the 19/20 “old crop” marketing year which runs until Sep 1 while the Hard Red Winter sales are for the 2020/21 “new crop” marketing year, which for wheat begins on June 1, 2020.

Today’s report verifies rumors that have been circulating among grain traders for the last several days.

Under the daily reporting system, U.S. exporters are required to report to USDA any export sales activity exceeding 100,000 tonnes or more of any one commodity made in one day to one destination country.
